The Hicksville American Soccer Club's (HASC) Girls U16 Team, the Rising Stars, finished in first place in their division for the fall 2008 season.

It was a very exciting season, with the girls scoring 24 goals and having only eight goals scored against them, by far, the best record in the league. The Rising Stars received patches and medals from Long Island Junior Soccer League and, thanks to HASC, also received championship sweatshirts.

Most of the team has been playing together for eight or more years and have received various sportsmanship honors, including in spring 2008 when they received a Sportsmanship Chevron.

Their parents are proud of the girls and the team's coaches, Carmelo Polito, David Sargoy and Stephen Bonczyk, who have done a great job keeping the team together.

The Rising Stars are Kristen, Katelyn, Kelly, Joanna, Kristin, Donna, Jennifer, Allison, Amanda, Nicole, Rachel, Chelsea, Amanda, Lauren and Stephanie.
