1st Lieutenant Voley John Martin with his parents, Voley and Toni, and brother, Ryan.
Back in August, 1st Lieutenant Voley John Martin of Hicksville completed flight training in the Blackhawk Helicopter at Fort Rucker, Alabama and is a member of the 42nd Aviation Battalion, which is based out of Macarthur Airport. He will leave Nov. 22 to join his unit in Iraq.

Voley, a Hicksville graduate from Old Country Road School through Hicksville High School, attended Stetson University in Florida for two years before returning to New York and earning his degree from Cortland.

Family, friends and fellow neighbors are proud of Voley's many accomplishments, including his band Bulletproof Messenger, which recently began working on their second album.

Please keep him in your prayers.
