Nancy Plansker, a member of the Hicksville Homemaker's Council of Nassau County, Inc. for 40 years, passed away Sept. 28, 2008 after a long illness. Ms. Plansker was president for two terms and was recently appointed 2nd vice president. She did a lot of volunteer work for local charities and also arranged entertainment for Homemaker's Council members, including trips, Broadway plays and much more. Alice J. Boyle of Hicksville passed away on October 5, 2008 in her 90th year. Retired secretary of Hicksville Public Schools. Member of Holy Family Carmelite Order and AHRSE. Wife of the late John F., mother of Peggy M. Lester (Edward Dukich), Monica Sterenchak (William) and John F., sister of Stanley Kanczuzewski, grandmother of James B. Lester (Patricia) and aunt of many. The family was cared for by Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Homes Levittown Chapel. Mass was at Holy Family RC Church. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery.
