A 25-page report issued last week by the Nassau County Commissioner of Investigations has determined that Nassau County Department of Child Protective Services (CPS) caseworkers and supervisors made several errors in judgment when handling the complaint against a New Cassel woman who allegedly murdered her three young children.

Attorney General to Seek Legal Action Against Local Drug Stores
New York State Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo announced last week that his office is taking legal action against some CVS and Rite Aid pharmacies after a statewide investigation into retail drug stores found the companies sold expired products such as milk, eggs, medication and baby formula, at stores across New York, including several in Nassau County.

Hicksville Girls Take Waldbaum's Cup by 'Storm'
The Hicksville Storm Girls U17 Soccer Team played in the Major Waldbaum's Cup Championship June 14 in Stony Brook. The Waldbaum's Cup is a single elimination tournament in which over 93 clubs throughout Long Island and Queens compete throughout the year.
