Proceeds from the Little Shelter's May 18 Walk for Their Lives will go toward Harley's surgery.

Put your walking shows on and join Little Shelter Animal Rescue and Adoption Center for its 7th Annual Walk For Their Lives at the Broadway Mall on May 18. Registration for the walk will begin at 8:30 a.m. with step-off at 9 a.m. The walk ends at 10:30 a.m.

Whether you stroll or power walk, take time after to enjoy light refreshments and watch educational and entertaining demonstrations. Little Shelter will remain at the mall until 3 p.m. with trainers on hand to answer questions about your cuddly canine or fabulous feline. In addition, Jilli Dog and Spidey Chihuahua will be wowing the audience with their amazing tricks and Dogs on Parade will strut their stuff on stage.

Harely, Little Shelter's "spokesdog," is urging you to walk and help her heal. Harley was hit by a car when she was a puppy and, sadly, her owners didn't seek medical attention. As a result, her painful injuries healed on their own and Harley was left with severely deformed legs. After several consultations with a specialist, Little Shelter knows that extensive surgery will enable Harley to lead a comfortable, happy, normal life. That surgery comes at a cost and with the community's help, Harley's miracle can come true.

The first 200 walkers that raise $50 or more will receive a T-shirt. There will also be prizes for the highest fundraisers. To register visit www.littleshelter.com and download a sponsorship form. For additional information, call (631) 368-8770, ext. 205 or 206.
