Central Nassau Guidance and Counseling Services will host its 16th Annual 5K Runday event on Saturday, May 24. The annual 3.1 mile U.S.A. Track and Field sanctioned run begins at 9 a.m. in front of Central Nassau's 950 South Oyster Bay Road offices and continues through a track that winds through Hicksville and Bethpage. The flat course 5K run is open to participants 12 years of age and older. In addition, a Children's Fun Run course is available for youngsters up to 12 years of age.
All Runday participants receive a commemorative T-shirt, free refreshments, computerized finish times and an opportunity to win one of twenty-three awards, trophies and/or certificates. A variety of raffles prizes including numerous sports and fitness related prizes add to the excitement of this annual fundraising event that benefits the many programs and services provided by Central Nassau Guidance and Counseling Services for persons diagnosed with psychiatric disabilities, substance abuse, developmental disabilities and chemical dependency.
Central Nassau's 5K Runday is part of the Long Island Grand Prix series of running events and is supported in part by several corporate sponsors including The Alcott Group, Bethpage Federal Credit Union, WBAB and WBLI Radio, and M and T Bank.
