It was a beautiful day today and the scores were both good and bad. It's early in the season and I guess most of us are still a little rusty. We had 47 golfers but we only had 35 pars and Dave Malle got 4 of them and Bob Ross, Frank Larke and Howard Olmstead had 3 each. But we did have 4 birdies. Sean McGuinness got one on the 173 yard, par 3, 2nd hole, Dan McCann got one on the 182 yard, par 3, 9th hole and Pete Johnson and Tom Parker each got one on the 272 yard, par 4, 6th hole. Collectively 11 men shot net par or less. We had two great rounds by Sean McGuinness and Dave Malle with an actual score of 36.
The next tournament will be Thursday, May 1. Sign in at 7 a.m. Don't be late.
Competition on the nine-hole course is divided into two divisions. Flight A is for players with a handicap of 13 or less. Flight B is for players with a handicap of 14 or more. The league is a 100 percent handicap league. Any man who is 55 years of age is eligible.
Note: Because of the rapid growth of our club this year, we regret that we must limit our membership. The time involved to make up the foursomes and the waiting time for all the groups to finish is prohibitive. If you have already called to say that you wish to join the club, we will accept you, but after that we will have to put you on a waiting list. For more information, call Lou Neumann at 681-2056.
