Hicksville High School seniors Edward Albrecht and Kacey Abbriano were named Outstanding Physical Education students at a recent Nassau County New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance dinner held at Woodbury's Crest Hollow Country Club.
Edward Albrecht is a Scholar Athlete in Boy's Varsity Cross Country, Varsity Indoor and Outdoor Track, and has served as cross country team captain for the past two years and spring track captain for the past three years. A member of the National Honor Society and the National Math Honor Society, Edward currently serves as president of Student Government, and is an active member of the German Club, Natural Helpers and has been nominated to two conferences on Youth Leadership. Edward also has volunteered his time to assist with many community service projects during his years at Hicksville High School, including the Marine Corps Toys for Tots and the Senior Citizen Dance.
Kacey Abbriano has served as captain of Hicksville's Girl's Varsity Lacrosse team for the past two years, was a member of the All-Conference Lacrosse team, and received an All-County Honorable Mention last year. Kacey is a Scholar Athlete in Varsity Soccer, Varsity Winter Track, and Varsity Lacrosse, and has received a 3-Sports Award for the past four years, playing as a member of those teams. She is a member of the Key Club, the French Club, the Student Blood Drive, and has been vice president of the Ski Club for the past four years. Kacey has volunteered for multiple community service activities during her high school career, including assisting at the Special Olympics, and participating in the Breast Cancer Walk at Eisenhower Park and the Kick for a Cure Soccer Tournament.
