New York State Assemblyman Rob Walker (R,C,I,WF-Hicksville) is announcing that the Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Partnership will be providing free mammograms and cervical exams to uninsured women on March 8.
"As we all know, the best prevention is early detection and a lack of insurance should not be a deterrent to quality preventative healthcare," said Assemblyman Walker. "This is a great program and I urge all women who qualify to take advantage of this opportunity to receive a free mammogram and cervical exam."
The Breast Cancer and Cervical Cancer Screening Partnership, in conjunction with Nassau University Medical Center, North Shore/LIJ Health System, Planned Parenthood, and South Nassau Communities Hospital, will be conducting the free screening on Saturday, March 8 from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at NUMC, 2201 Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow.
