In reference to Carol Hymes' article "Disappointed With Hicksville's Holiday Display" (Dec. 28, 2007), I couldn't agree more.
Over the last 27 years that I am here, the decorations in Hicksville just seem to have vanished. However, my hat goes off to JVC Auto Inc. on East Barclay Street because, faithfully year after year, they have Christmas lights from one side of the street to the other. Even the New York State Fraternal Order of Police have Starburst lights on West John Street ever since they first moved there several years ago. Go up to Jericho Turnpike, west of Glen Cove Road and almost to the city line there are lights on all the poles.
If other towns can do it, why can't Hicksville?
