The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation announced that the Long Island State Park Region will host its 13th Annual Winter Run Series beginning Jan. 8.

The series will begin Sunday, Jan. 6 at Heckscher State Park. Additional runs will be on Jan. 13 at Gov. Alfred E. Smith/Sunken Meadow State Park, Jan. 20 at Caumsett State Historic Park, and Jan. 27 at Jones Beach State Park. All races start at 11 a.m. For an application, please send a stamped, self-addressed envelope to: Winter Run Series, P.O. The registration deadline is Dec. 26 or as soon as 1,000 full series registrants are received. Entry fees are as follows: Full Series Registration $40; Group Discount Registration (25 or more applicants submitted at the same time) $34 per person; Champion Chip owner full series registration $36; Champion Chip owner Group Discount Registration $30 per person, and Day of Race registration $15 per person.
