We would like to announce our support to the candidate that we believe will do a fine job as commissioner of the Hicksville Fire District. This gentleman has given 36 years of total dedication to the fire department and to this community. His name is William Thunell.

The men and women of the Hicksville Fire Department, who we all depend on for our fire and rescue protection, get to vote for a leader who will do the job of chief. This decision is taken very seriously as this must be a person with knowledge, leadership skills, and total dedication to the job.

William Thunell was that person and that is why he was chosen to be their leader and they gave him their vote and he was elected to be chief of the Hicksville Fire Department. He spent eight years in the chief's office and during that time we had a leader that we can depend on.

Now, ex-Chief Thunell has decided to run for the position of fire commissioner and if the men and women of Hicksville Fire Department can place their lives in his hands and ask him to lead them during the most tense moments of their lives and the lives of the people they have helped, then we should embrace this true leader and support his campaign for this election.

This is why we are asking all of our friends and supporters to join us on Dec. 11, 2007 and elect a man that will work, as he has always done, to better this community by bringing his vast knowledge to the board of fire commissioners. He has given 36 years; couldn't you please give 20 minutes and vote for ex-Chief William Thunell as our next Fire Commissioner.
