Hicksville native Michael Keilty, a 1991 graduate of Our Lady of Mercy and a 1995 graduate of Chaminade High School, is used to getting up early and training. A captain with the United States Army, Keilty is currently stationed at Camp Darulaman Air Force Base outside Kabul, Afghanistan.

With 142 registrants that included 25 members of the "Class of 1947," 51 runners completing more than a marathon and 136 runners completing at least one 2.07 mile loop of the Sunken Meadow State Park course, the Greater Long Island Running Club's (GLIRC) 8th annual 6 Hour 60th Birthday Run on Oct. 14 broke all sorts of records for participation.
