On Oct. 21, hundreds of people attended the dedication of a park in memory of the late Marine Corporal Kevin T. Kolm of Hicksville who died on April 13, 2004 from hostile fire in Fallujah, an Anbar province in Iraq. He was 23 years old. FULL STORY

Charles Chester is branching out into the world of filmmaking. The Hicksville native, who currently works as a director for Bloomberg Television, will begin filming the motion picture The Children of Fleeting Light later this year and, in an effort to support the film, a fundraiser will take place Saturday at the Joseph Barry Knights of Columbus.
