Nassau Bar in Favor of Relocating Family Court
Nassau County is in need of a better family courthouse. On this, Executive Thomas Suozzi and the county's bar association agree. However, whether the current building, located in Westbury, should be renovated and expanded or relocated elsewhere in the county, is currently up for debate.

Local Counseling Center Closing Doors After 34 Years
The Ecumenical Consultation Center (ECC) opened its doors in 1973 in an effort to provide low-cost counseling and psychotherapeutic services to individuals and/or families who otherwise could not afford or qualify for them. While the need for such services still exists, ECC can no longer afford to provide these services and, after 34 years, will be closing, effective Oct. 15.

Hicksville-Based 'A Step Ahead' Wins Physically Challenged Division of Ocean to Sound Relay
Congratulations to the team of amputee athletes from the Hicksville-based "A Step Ahead," that took first place honors in the Physically Challenged Division of the Sept. 9 Ocean to Sound Relay hosted by the Greater Long Island Running Club.
