Norma Jeanne Dagna, 83, of Hicksville, died Sept. 20, 2007. She was born in Toledo, OH, on July 12, 1924, the daughter of Eugene and Gladys Delight Leuchtman. A graduate of Bayside High School and Virginia Intermont College (1943, commercial art), she worked in New York City in the fields of advertising and photography.
She and her husband married in 1948 and settled in Hicksville in 1952, where they remained. She pursued her passion for art as a member, officer/president of the Independent Art Society. Her ardent 30-year support of education led her to roles as a member, officer/president of the PTAs of Woodland Avenue, Hicksville Junior and Senior High Schools. She was a founding member of the Special Education PTA of Hicksville, serving in numerous Council of PTA's leadership roles.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 56 years, R. Lawrence Dagna in October 2004. She is survived by two sons, Lawrence R. (Christine) of Orwigsburg PA, Robert A. (Jennifer Person) of Glen Cove, a daughter, Jeanne M. (Lisa Roberts) of Collegeville, PA; two beloved granddaughters, Sabrina Elise Reinhart (Steven), Lancaster, PA, and Caitlyn Marie, Ephrata, PA; one treasured great-granddaughter, Kylee Jane Reinhart.
A celebration of her life will be held Sept. 29 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Dalton Funeral Home, Hicksville. In lieu of flowers and in keeping with her life, the family suggests donations to your favorite charity.
Ida Vecchione, of Hicksville, died on Sept. 20, 2007. Sister of Angelina Vecchione, Margaret Romano, Fanny Siegel, Joseph Vecchione and Nancy La Penta. The family was cared for by the Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home, Hicksville Chapel. Mass at Holy Family RC Church. Interment St. Charles Cemetery.
