According to the Robbery Squad, the first robbery occurred at the Exxon gas station at 499 East Old Country Road at 11:50 p.m. Aug. 22. A white male armed with a handgun and plastic bag over his head allegedly approached the station's attendant and demanded cash. Police report that taking the night's receipts, the suspect fled, on foot, southbound on South Oyster Bay Road.
At 12:30 a.m. Aug. 23, detectives believe the same subject attempted to rob the attendant at the Mobil gas station at 325 South Oyster Bay Road. The suspect was allegedly armed with a handgun and a plastic bag over his head.
Fifteen minutes later, at 12:45 a.m., police allege that the suspect attempted to rob the BP gas station at 199 North Broadway. At that location, the subject again produced a handgun and was wearing a plastic bag over his head, according to police.
The subject being sought in connection to these three incidents is described as a white male, 20 to 24 years old, 160 pounds and between 5'8" and 5'10" wearing blue jeans and a white T-shirt with writing displayed on the front. He was armed with a silver handgun.
Additionally, Second Squad detectives are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred on Tuesday, Aug. 28 at 11:02 p.m. at the same abovementioned Exxon gas station.
According to detectives, a 39-year-old victim was working as an attendant at the station when an unknown white male allegedly came up to the door and tired to enter the store but the door was locked and services were being conducted through the glass window. Police report that when the subject could not open the door, he allegedly demanded to be let in and continued to try and open the door, reaching under his shirt as if he was retrieving a gun. The subject allegedly pointed his finger at the victim, motioning like he was pulling the trigger of gun. The gas attendant refused to open the door and the subject fled southbound onto South Oyster Bay Road.
The subject being sought in this attempted robbery is described as being in his mid 20s and about 5'7". He is said to have been wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt, sneakers and a dark colored sweatshirt with the hood pulled tight over his face.
There were no injuries in any of the four incidents.
Police ask anyone with information regarding any of the abovementioned robberies to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
