On July 30, State Supreme Court Justice Daniel Martin notified the attorneys for the Sheriff Officers Association (ShOA), the union representing Nassau County's 1,100 correction officers, that the request for a stay of a temporary restraining has been denied. Among the highlights of the Awards Brunch following the 16th annual Nick Katsounis Memorial Wheelchair Championship 10 Kilometer Race on June 24 was the presentation of a special award to the Hicksville-based New York State (NYS) Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) in recognition of their years of support for the race.
