Sports

Today started out to be very foggy. You could not even see the green from the first tee. But just as we started to play, a little breeze came up and the fog blew away. The scores were a little better today with 18 men out of 42 shooting net par or less. We had 31 pars with Lou Rezoagli and Joe Magee each getting four. We also had 2 birdies today. One from Frank Orlando on the par, 257-yard, 5th hole and the other by Lou Neumann on the par 4, 259-yard, 1st hole.

Today was the second round of the match play tournament, eight players will move on to the third round and eight other guys will have to wait until next year. We sign in as a group at 7:00 a.m.

If you are in the match play tournament, make sure that you sign up with your opponent so you can play in the same foursome.

The next tournament will be on Aug. 2.

Competition on the nine-hole course is divided into two divisions. Flight A is for players with a handicap of 13 or less. Flight B is for players with a handicap of 14 or more. The league is a 100 percent handicap league. Any man who is 55 years of age is eligible.

Note: Because of the rapid growth of our club this year, we regret that we must limit our membership. The time involved to make up the foursomes and the waiting time for all the groups to finish is prohibitive. If you have already called to say that you wish to join the club, we will accept you, but after that we will have to put you on a waiting list. For more information call Lou Neumann at 681-2056.
