LIPA's 1,000th Solar Power System Installed at Hicksville Home
The Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) dedicated the installation of Long Island's 1,000th solar roof Tuesday to Hicksville homeowners George and Angela Karman. The 9,180 watt PV system is expected to produce 10,384 kilowatt hours (kWhs) annually, which should save the Karman's approximately $2,100 per year.

The Assembly Republican Sex Offender Watch Task Force held the second in a series of meetings last week at the Merrick Public Library. The task force will travel throughout the state, seeking solutions to the problems that exist when sex offenders move into communities.

Hicksville Soccer Girls U11 Open Tryouts
The Hicksville American Soccer Club Girls U11 Travel program is looking for members born between Aug. 1, 1996 and July 31, 1997 to join a team next year. The club currently has three teams at this age group competing at varying levels of skills. This year the team will be increasing the number of players on the field from seven to nine, offering ample room for anyone with interest.
