Rose W. Geer, born on Feb. 6, 1915, sister of John G. Winslow, passed away peacefully in Ridgewood, NJ, on March 30, 2007. She lived at The Atrium in Allendale, NJ, since 2001 and in Tuxedo Park, NY, for the previous 86 years. She was predeceased by her husband Garrow T. Geer in 2001 and by her sister Penelope W. Baker. She is remembered and loved by her three children, Margo Geer Walker, Charles Lesher Geer and Rose Geer Thorne. Her nine grandchildren survive her, David Walker, Sacha Walker, Tara Geer (Ming), Eliza Geer (Karchmer), Geoa Geer, Garrow Geer, Sarah Geer, William Thorne, and Emma Thorne, as well as her two great-grandchildren, Jonah and Noa.
Arrangements were made by the Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush Funeral Home, Monroe, NY (www.ssqfuneralhome.com). Services will be held at St. Mary's in Tuxedo Church, Fox Hill Rd., Tuxedo Park, NY, at 11 a.m. on April 10.
Caterina Sonsotta, of Baldwin, died on March 31, 2007. Mother of Joseph (Sharon), Frankie and Carmine (Pina). Grandmother of 13. Great-grandmother of two. Aunt of many nieces and nephews. John Hackett, of Levittown, died on April 2, 2007. A US Navy WWII veteran, he received the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for Heroism. He was retired from CDB Enterprises. His family was his greatest joy. Husband of Dorothy. Father of Mary Bailey (John), Elizabeth Sheridan (John), John Hackett (Nancy), James Hackett, Michael Hackett and Teresa Roets (John). Grandfather of 12. Great-grandfather of one. The family was cared for by the Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home, Hicksville Chapel. Mass at Holy Family RC Church. Interment Calverton National Cemetery.
