For the second meet in a row, she earned a career high 38.925 score to lead the Towson University Tigers to a season high 193.5 team score and a first place finish at the Shelli Calloway Memorial Towson Invitational on Feb. 17 at the Towson Center in Maryland.
Schweitzer finished first in balance beam (9.725) and floor exercise (9.825) and third in vault with a score of 9.75.
Towson University is now 14-4 on the season and finished ahead of Cornell University (189.575), Pennsylvania (187.700), Temple (186.825), Ursinus (186.775) and James Madison (185.175) to win the meet for the fourth year in a row. Towson has now won its invitational 19 times in 22 years.
Schweitzer also captured the all-around title at Cornell University's Big Red Invitational on Feb. 10 and was named both the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Gymnast of the Week and Rookie of the Week respectively for the week ending Jan. 28.
Schweitzer is a 2006 graduate of Holy Trinity High School where she helped the Lady Titans win four Catholic High School Gymnastic League (CHSGL) championships in a row and set four school records along with winning the conference all-around championship three times. She was also named first team All-CHSGL three times. Additionally, for the second time this season, Schweitzer was a co-winner of the Eastern College Athletic Conference's (ECAC) Rookie of the Week Award for the week ending Feb. 18. She shared the award with Alicia Sacramone of Brown University.
Schweitzer began her gymnastics career at an early age at the Mid-Island Gymnastics Club. She is the daughter of Gary and Joan Schweitzer of Hicksville.
