The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Hicksville man for allegedly committing multiple acts of sexual misconduct over a period of two hours Feb. 17 in Hicksville.
According to Second Squad Detective Thomas Keteltas, the defendant, Harvey Holmes, 42, of Hicksville allegedly grabbed, forcibly held or fondled five female victims at the following times and locations: 2:15 p.m. at Stop & Shop located at 530 Old Country Road in Hicksville; 2:19 p.m. in the Target parking lot in the Broadway Mall in Hicksville; 2:25 p.m. in the parking lot of the Broadway Mall in Hicksville; 2:30 p.m. in the Delco Plaza parking lot located at 265 S. Broadway in Hicksville; and at 2:45 p.m. at 7-Eleven located at 413 Jerusalem Avenue in Hicksville.
The victim of the 2:15 p.m. incident was an 11-year-old girl who was allegedly grabbed by the defendant as she entered the vestibule of Stop & Shop with her mother. All other victims were females ranging in age from 10 to 46.
Pursuant to notification, Eighth Precinct officers and a supervisor responded to the Broadway Mall where the defendant, while operating a 1990 Buick, struck another car and left the scene of the accident before allegedly grabbing the third victim. After a prolonged attempt by police officers to pull the defendant over, he stopped his vehicle on South Broadway and Bloomingdale Avenue where, after investigation, he was placed under arrest.
Holmes is charged with second-degree sexual abuse, three counts of second-degree unlawful imprisonment, three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and menacing in the third degree, three counts of forcible touching, failure to stop for a police officer and leaving the scene of an accident. He is slated for arraignment in First District Court in Hempstead March 18.
