Congratulations to Eric Holzapple and Laura McNamara on recently being named Hicksville High School 2006 Nassau Zone Outstanding Physical Education Students of the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation & Dance.

Eric Holzapple, a member of the National Honor Society, Athletes Helping Others, and Natural Helpers, has volunteered his time to assist in the Special Olympics and various other community service projects. As a scholar/athlete, Eric has distinguished himself in baseball, football, and basketball, served as captain of each team, and earned several post-season honors, including an All-County selection.

Laura McNamara is an active student leader who has participated in Athletes Helping Others, fundraising walkathons and volunteers her time as a referee for local youth sports programs. She is a dedicated softball, winter track, and Conference Champion soccer team athlete who has earned several post-season honors, including an All-County selection.
