Tim Parker, a student at Hicksville Middle School, recently traveled to Disney in Orlando, FL and Guadalajara, Mexico as part of United States Soccer U14 Boys National Team.
Tim was selected for the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association U14 team, which trained once a week starting in January 2006. Then in July, Tim attended Region 1 (Maine to Virginia) Camp and was selected to return for Call Back Training Camp at Rider University in New Jersey. From his performance at these camps, Tim was among 120 boys selected nationally to attend the Boys National Team Identification Camp held in Concord, MA.
Last November, Tim was selected to be part of the U.S. National team, as a member of a 36-man roster split into two teams. The teams competed against U.S. Regional teams and then competed against each other at the U.S. Youth Soccer ODP Thanksgiving Interregional Tournament at Disney's Wide World of Sports. The team arrived on a Wednesday and trained for two days prior to the start of the tournament.
His second trip was from Jan. 14 to Jan. 21 when he traveled to Guadalajara, Mexico to compete against youth teams from Mexican clubs Chivas and Tecos.
Tim locally plays for his hometown Hicksville Strikers, which were just accepted in Northeast Regional Premier League. He also plays for Long Island Rough Riders youth team, which traveled to Tampa this past November to take part in the Super Y League North American Finals.
Tim's family and friends wish him the best of luck and continued success as he travels to play in Virginia Beach this month where he may be selected to be part of the Region 1 Team that travels to Italy in April.
