Lorraine C. Willard (nee Zeiher), 73, of Cornelius, NC, formerly a longtime resident of Hicksville, died on Dec. 31, 2006. Born in Hicksville in 1933, Lorraine graduated from Hicksville High School in 1950 and worked at the USAF base at Mitchell Field in Uniondale. In 1953 she married Lt. Col. Frank H. Willard and embarked on the life of a military wife traveling extensively and living in many different places throughout the US. She returned to Hicksville in 1973 and remained there until recently when she moved to Cornelius. Throughout her life she had a passion for gardening and antiques and always had a fine garden.

Lorraine will always be remembered as the loving mother of Peter F. Willard and loving mother-in-law of his wife Margarita. She is also survived by her brother Peter Zeiher and sister Marilyn Reinhardt as well as many nieces and nephews and their children.

Arrangements were made by the Wagner Funeral Home, Hicksville. She will be buried and reunited with her beloved husband Frank at Calverton National Cemetery.
