New York Assemblyman Rob Walker (R, C, I, WF - Hicksville) has been named vice chairman of the Assembly Steering Committee.
"My appointment to a leadership position on the Steering Committee is a great honor. As vice-chairman I will have a role in the development of legislative policy and legislation," said Walker. "I look forward to my new role in the Assembly and the development of legislative solutions to problems such as long-term property tax relief, controlling power rates and stemming the tide of brain drain."
The Assembly Steering Committee is responsible for meeting with concerned groups and organizations to discover public opinions, ideas and concerns. Through this process the committee develops new legislative policy and legislation.
"Assemblyman Walker will be a key part of the Assembly Republican Conference's leadership team," said Assembly Minority Leader James Tedisco (R, C, I - Schenectady, Saratoga). "He will do a great job for our conference, his constituents and all New Yorkers in this important leadership position."
