A hearing on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for a proposed Costco Wholesale store in Hicksville, which was originally scheduled for Dec. 13, is on the calendar for Tuesday, Jan. 9. FULL STORY

On Tuesday, Dec. 19 at approximately 7 p.m. the Hicksville Fire Department, under the command of Chief Robert Lang, responded to a call for an auto accident at the intersection of Jerusalem Avenue and 4th Street. The first unit on the scene reported an overturned auto with all occupants out of the vehicles. A white Ford Explorer hit a black Chevrolet Suburban, causing the Suburban to overturn. Thanks to the kindness of Mother Nature in providing Long Island with a great stretch of December weather, the 19th annual Carter, DeLuca, Farrell & Schmidt Ho Ho Ho Holiday Run, held on the roads of Bethpage on Dec. 16, was a tremendous success. There were 1,184 finishers in the 5K run and more than 50 youngsters in the 1/4 Mile Fun Run that preceded the main event. FULL STORY
