For the first time since 1990, the Hicksville High School Boys Varsity Soccer Team achieved distinction as Nassau County AA-1 Conference Champions with a 10-1-1 record.
Coach Jack Fabrizio, a 1989 Hicksville High School graduate and four-year high school soccer player himself, knows all too well what individual and team ability and effort it takes to maintain this kind of winning record. "The main things about these players were their ability to work as a cohesive unit and their genuine love of the game," said Fabrizio, "I'm so proud of our team and honored to be their coach."
Assistant Coach, Matt Dunleavy, also played a significant role in aiding the team to achieve their New York State eighth place ranking. The coaches have already set their goals for next season, "It is important to continue to improve our program so we stay at this level."
Nine Hicksville High School players were distinguished by the Nassau County Soccer Coaches' Association to receive post-season honors, including:
All-County - Tyler Arnone, Nick Maleganos and James Mohrman
All-Conference - James Austen, Brian Freire, PJ Keil, Daniel Musinski, Ryan Reichmann and Joseph Vissichelli.
Congratulations to Hicksville's Boy's Varsity Soccer Team on a great season!
