Crime Stoppers, the Nassau County Police Department and area merchants are seeking the public's help in connection with a homicide that occurred at the Exxon gas station at 106 North Broadway, Hicksville on Nov. 4.
According to detectives, at approximately 6:55 a.m., 59-year-old Mohammed Ali of Hicksville, was stabbed more than once during a robbery at the Exxon station. Mr. Ali, who was working as a cashier at the time of the robbery, succumbed to his injuries Nov. 5 at Nassau University Medical Center.
Crime Stoppers are offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest of the subject while an additional $12,000 has been offered by the Hicksville business community for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for Mr. Ali's death.
Police are looking for a black male subject around 6 feet between the age of 30 and 32 with a medium length Afro wearing a black jacket and black pants. According to police, the subject was last seen entering a late 1990s black Oldsmobile Aurora and fleeing the scene northbound on North Broadway at the time of the robbery.
