Krummenacker, Scanlon Vie for HFD Board Seat
Lifelong Hicksville resident Michael Krummenacker joined the Hicksville Fire Department's Company #1 35 years ago and, over the years, has served as captain and past secretary. In addition, he served as fire commissioner for two consecutive terms from 1981-1991 and, in 2004, ran unsuccessfully for the board against current Commissioner Harry Single.

Thanksgiving Basket Brigade, a Success: 50K Kicks Performed
Thanksgiving Basket Brigade Kick-A-Thon, is a national project to raise money and deliver Thanksgiving dinners with all the trimmings directly to needy families in the surrounding areas. On Nov. 17, parent volunteers from Shin's Tae Kwon Do in Hicksville made an unbelievable 96 Thanksgiving dinner baskets and, on Nov. 19, each student of Shin's Tae Kwon Do began their1,000 kicks for the Kick-A-Thon sponsors so that they could collect the money for each and every kick.
