Through Resolution, HFD Promises Nothing Eminent
The Hicksville Board of Fire Commissioners, in assuring all residents that the fire district has no intention - at this time or down the road - of condemning property to expand any of its fire stations or facilities, has unanimously passed a resolution to reiterate its commitment to never use the power of eminent domain for the purposes of obtaining fire district property. The issue of eminent domain originally surfaced during early discussions regarding the fire district's interest in expanding Station 2, which is located at the intersection of Briggs Street and Woodbury Road.
