I am writing this letter to ask all my friends and supporters to please come out and vote on Dec. 12 between 4p.m. and 9 p.m. for fire commissioner. I have served you all for almost two years now as fire commissioner and I have worked very hard to do all that I promised to do. We on the board of fire commissioners have to work together and we need someone who can work with us, someone who truly is concerned about our community and is willing to give an all-out effort to make sure that you, our citizens, have the very best.
I want someone who has the heart, compassion and drive to handle the difficult tasks ahead. Someone who has repeatedly shown this community that he cares. Someone who is active and not afraid to take on the tough situations we face.
That is why I am supporting ex-Chief Pat Scanlon for this job. He is the only candidate who fits this bill. He will do what needs to be done, not for personal gain, but because he wants to do the right thing for our citizens and our firefighters.
I ask all of you to please take a few moments out on Dec. 12 and come down and vote. Please do not think your one vote doesn't count. It does.
I look forward to my next three years on the board and hope that I will be working side by side with a man of tremendous integrity, ex-Chief Pat Scanlon.
Harry J. Single Jr.
Commissioner, Hicksville Fire District
