On Sept. 23, Crusader defense came out strong and held the Titans from scoring on their first possession.

On the Crusader's first possession their offense also came out strong, and a handoff in the backfield from Quarterback Anthony Rolston to Joseph Barnet resulted in a 65-yard run for the first touchdown of the game. The offense scored again when Michael McNamara ran over 45-yards for a touchdown.

In the second half, when the Crusaders were first and goal on the five in Titans' territory after a run by Joseph Barnet for over 45-yards, a pass to Robert Schulz was completed for the third touchdown of the game for the Crusaders.

The Crusaders' 18-0 victory over the Floral Park Titans brought their record to 2 and 1.

In a game marred by numerous penalties, the Hicksville Crusaders 10-year-old team were able to keep to their winning ways with a hard fought 13-7 victory over the Inwood Buccaneers on Sept. 24.

The Crusaders controlled the ball for most of the game, driving down the length of the field as they chewed the clock up for most of the first quarter. Tailback Conner Byrne, took to the outside of blockers John Lively and Steven Diaz for a nice 15-yard dash into the end zone for Hicksville's first score. After being stalled for several series the Crusaders opened up their offense as James Culhane was able to complete a neat option pass to Steven Maiorca for another touchdown.

Inwood, however, was a formidable opponent coming back with a score of their own around the left end to make it 13-7. Strong line play from Nick D'Aquila, Matt Arnone, Robbie Culp and Michael Corrado along with newcomers Jonathan Cruz and Michael Chiccarella provided the needed surge to seal the victory for the Crusaders.

All players continue to learn and fight hard as the Ten's have won their first two games in the highly competitive "A" division of the NCYFL. Ranked 11th (last in the division), the Crusaders, not expected to make much noise within the league this season, are suddenly drawing the attention from some teams.

This Sunday the team plays on the road against a tough Bellmore Braves squad, providing for a nice match up on Sunday at 11 a.m.

The 11-year-old Hicksville Crusaders traveled to Floral Park Sept. 23 to play against the Titans. The Crusaders dominated the game both offensively and defensively.

The offense moved the ball both on the ground and through the air, due to great offensive line play. Touchdowns were scored by Brian Stone on a 10-yard run and Brian McPartland on a 22-yard run after he caught a pass thrown by Steven Wasilewicz. Stone kicked the extra point, making the final score 14-0.

Defense allowed only three first downs the entire game. Defense recovered one fumble and Matt Demm had one interception. Overall, a great game was played by the entire team.
