Holy Trinity High School on Alert After MySpace Threat
Students at Holy Trinity Diocesan High School in Hicksville were excused from classes Monday after school officials "learned of a potential threat to the safety and security of its school through communications taking place on the MySpace.com website." The alleged threats were to occur Sept. 18.

Jerome Lands Role of A 'Life' Time
After 10 weeks of grueling competition, Hicksville native Mikey Jerome was the last one standing on the Aug. 10 finale of I Wanna Be a Soap Star, SOAPNet's original reality series. Jerome defeated nine other contestants, including fellow Long Islander Kelly McGarry, 30, of Smithtown, and on Aug. 11, made his daytime soap debut on ABC's longstanding drama One Life to Life. As the winner, Jerome received a 13-week contract (which can be extended each cycle) for the reoccurring role of "Ted Osborne," a former cop who works as "Vincent Jones'" right hand man.

PAL to Hold 2006 Spring Registration
The Hicksville Unit of the Nassau County Police Activity League (PAL) will hold registration on Monday, Sept. 25 and Wednesday Sept. 27 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the PAL office trailer.

6th Walk to D'Feet ALS Scheduled for September 30
The ALS Association is asking local residents to come and walk to raise money and awareness to defeat ALS, which is also known Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or Lou Gehrig's disease. The ALS Association for the Walk to D'Feet ALS will hold its sixth annual event this year on Saturday, Sept. 30 at Eisenhower Park beginning at 10:45 a.m.
