Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto invites all residents to attend the town's September 11 memorial ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 10, at the town's 9-11 Memorial at Tobay Beach. The event is scheduled for 2 p.m.

"Last year, the Town dedicated its September 11 memorial, situated on the bay side of Tobay Beach, where there is a direct line of sight to where the Twin Towers once stood. It provides a serene and peaceful surrounding, making it a fitting backdrop for a place of remembrance," Venditto said. "Our residents now have a permanent structure at which to gather and remember those lost."

The town's memorial monument is inscribed with the names of Town of Oyster Bay residents lost on September 11, 2001. The memorial also features a steel beam recovered from the World Trade Center, which is positioned in the direct line of sight where the Twin Towers once stood.

"I hope that all residents will join us on Sunday, Sept. 10 to remember our friends and neighbors who were lost in the Sept. 11 tragedy," Venditto concluded. "While it will be a solemn time, it will also provide a great opportunity for us to pay tribute and memorialize our loved ones who were taken from us too soon."
