At 17, Jaclyn Delligatti Is Young Politician
A while back, 17-year-old Jaclyn Delligatti of Hicksville decided it would be a good idea to write a bill to enforce stricter laws for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI). She felt this was necessary because it is something that needs to be dealt with and has hit her friends and family close to home. Over the summer, Jaclyn presented her bill to the New York State Senate and, the same day it was heard, the bill was voted on and passed.
Town of Oyster Bay to Host September 11 Memorial Ceremony
Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto invites all residents to attend the town's September 11 memorial ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 10, at the town's 9-11 Memorial at Tobay Beach. The event is scheduled for 2 p.m.
PAL to Hold 2006 Spring Registration
The Hicksville Unit of the Nassau County Police Activity League (PAL) will hold registration on Monday, Sept. 25 and Wednesday Sept. 27 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the PAL office trailer.
