On Thursday, June 8, at approximately 12:30 p.m., the Hicksville Fire Department responded to a call for an overturned auto and car fire at the intersection of West Old Country and Newbridge Roads. The first unit on scene reported that there was no car fire. The collision occurred between a gray Chevrolet Venture minivan and a blue Volkswagen Jetta. According to fire officials, the minivan was hit in the right rear by the Jetta causing the driver of the minivan to lose control and flip over. A male from the minivan was transported to the hospital by the Nassau County Police Department, which responded as well with multiple ambulances.
