Our men and women in uniform have answered their call to duty. Now it is time for each one of us to take action. We look forward to have Sept. 16, 2006 as National Celebrate Our Troops Day at John J. Burns Park in Massapequa. Across this great country of ours we will come together to unite and celebrate our men and women in uniform, regardless of political affiliation and personal opinions of the war.

Our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have done and are continuing to do a great job. We need to show our appreciation for all the sacrifices they have made and the sacrifices they continue to make on a daily basis. With money realized from this day we would be able to show our appreciation by purchasing items for the troops that will make life a little easier for them and bring them closer to home.

We are looking for patriots like yourself to donate goods and services such as moonwalks, ice cream trucks, balloons, printing services, music, etc., Also, anyone with any special talents (jugglers, magicians, etc.) or those who just want to volunteer their time can do so.

A 'wall of celebration' is also being planned on which pictures of those who have served this country in all wars as well as pictures of those currently serving and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice will be prominently displayed.

We need and ask for your assistance to make this day a big success. Please respond as soon as possible to Dmutch235@aol.com with services offered and contact information.
