But Presiding Officer Warns of Serious Impact to County Budget
The Republican caucus of the Nassau County Legislature has proposed a bill that would eliminate the county portion of sales tax on gasoline over $2 a gallon. However, the Presiding Officer of the Legislature Judy Jacobs is concerned with the impact such an action would have on the county budget.

Cantiague Park Senior Men's Golf League
On what a beautiful morning - today was the best golf day all year. We had a record number of golfers out today - 48 men. The scores were not bad, but not too good either. Out of 48 men playing today, we had only 36 pars, but we did have 4 birdies - one by John Hebrank on the 272-yard, par 4, 6th hole, one by John Pellegrino on the 182-yard, par 3, 9th hole, one by John Ednie on the 228-yard, par 3, 8th hole and one by Dave Malle (how did he get here, his name is not John) on the 200-yard, par 3, 4th hole. Overall low as won for the second consecutive tournament by Tom Parker. This time he shot a net 26.
