Levinson: We Have to Explore Alternatives
Nassau County Assessor Harvey Levinson has a plan he believes could financially help residents remain in the community. Levinson's proposal, which he presented to some 60 residents at the Hicksville Community Council's May 4 meeting, calls for implementing a school district income tax credit and eliminating the residential portion of the school property tax paid by both homeowners and renters through Nassau County. In addition, through the proposal, commercial and utility property, apartment buildings and non-residents would continue paying property taxes.

Michael Magro Foundation Scoreboard to Be Dedicated May 22
The scoreboard purchased by the Michael Magro Foundation has been mounted at Hicksville Middle School and the dedication ceremony will take place Monday, May 22 at 3:30 p.m. at the Hicksville Middle School field. A short ceremony will be followed by the JV scrimmage at around 4 p.m. and the middle school lacrosse game at around 4:20 p.m.

HFA Cheerleading Off to Great Start
The first of three free cheerleading clinics took place on Monday, May 8 with fun for all. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces - participants and coaches - return and welcome new ones as well.
