Holy Family CYO Basketball Named Nassau-Suffolk Champs
Congratulations to the Holy Family Eagles Boys 8th Grade Basketball Team on winning the Nassau-Suffolk CYO "B" Division with an incredible 46-45 overtime victory over St. Aloysius of Great Neck on March 26. Sixty-two teams entered the "B" Division with the Eagles in the tough 5B1 league.

McDermott Sentenced for Green Card Scam
Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice announced that Hicksville resident Clementina McDermott, 62, was sentenced April 24 by Judge George Peck to a term of incarceration of one to three years and ordered to pay $31,925.50 in restitution to 11 victims for her planning and execution of a scheme to defraud recent immigrant families who paid her to obtain green cards for themselves and their family members.

Cantiague Park Senior Men's Golf League
It was a much better day than the last tournament. The weather was great. It was pretty warm but there was a cool breeze which made it very comfortable. Last tournament we only had 16 pars among 41 men, today we had 25 pars and two birdies among 43 men. Lou Rezoagli got one on the 157 yard, par 3, seventh hole and Jim Bradley got one on the 259 yard, par 4, first hole. There was another tie for overall low (net) score. Both Andy Malone and John Agnoli had 27 but Andy won it on the first hole where he had a lower score than John.

PAL to Hold 2006 Spring Registration
The Hicksville Unit of the Nassau County Police Activity League (PAL) will hold registration for the spring 2006 season on Saturday, April 29 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the PAL Office Trailer.
