I would like to thank all of you who came out on Dec. 13 and supported Bob Manson in the election for fire commissioner of the Hicksville Fire District. It was gratifying to see so many Hicksville residents come out on such a cold, bitter night. It's apparent that many of our neighbors are very concerned over the information that was brought to light in recent newspaper articles and are anxious for a change.

As you might be aware, the election on Dec. 13 resulted in a tie. Because of this, there will be a runoff vote on Jan. 25 at the East Marie Street firehouse. The voting hours will be from 4 to 9 p.m.

I am asking that if you voted or did not vote in the December election that you please come out on Jan. 25 and cast your vote. It's time for a change and with your vote, this time, we can make it happen.

Bill Foley

Ex-Commissioner, Hicksville Fire District

47-year member, Hicksville Fire Department
