On Oct. 15, Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto, together with members of the town board and the local community, dedicated the new John Walker Memorial Park on Andrews Road in Hicksville. Big Shot, a world class Billy Joel Tribute band, gave a rocking performance for the friends of Holy Family on Nov. 5 in honor of leukemia patient Kirsten Stauder in the school's gymnasium of Holy Family School. In September, Shin's Tae Kwon Do Center of Hicksville had a grand celebration in honor of the school's 11th anniversary of teaching children, teens and adults.
