It was a great golf day today, but we only had 32 men play. It was a make-up tournament that had been rained out last March. I guess some men did not realize that we were playing today, (we usually play on the first and the third Thursdays of the month). We had a scramble tournament today and only the team score counts. The winning team was Dave Malle, George Hatalsky, Jerry Skaee and Kent Schreiber. They had a score of 30. There were four teams that tied for second place with a score of 32. One of those teams had a birdie on the first hole, so they won second place. They are, John Geier, George Thomas, Frank Drasby and Jim Greene. The longest drive was won by Pete Johnson and the closest to the pin was won by John Ednie.
The next tournament will be on Thursday Oct. 6. This will be the second to last tournament of the year.
Competition on the nine hole course is divided into two divisions. Flight A is for players with a handicap of 11 or less. Flight B is for players with a handicap of 12 or more. The league is a 100 percent handicap league. Any man who is 55 years of age is eligible.
Note: Because of the rapid growth of our club this year, we regret that we must limit our membership. The time involved to make up the foursomes and the waiting time for all the groups to finish is prohibitive. If you have already called to say that you wish to join the club, we will accept you, but after that we will have to put you on a waiting list. For more information call Lou Neumann at 681-2056.
