This weekend, the largest soccer tournament on Long Island takes place on fields throughout Nassau County.
The 27th Annual American Ref-Fuel East Meadow Tournament is to be played this Saturday, Aug. 27, Sunday, Aug. 28 and Monday, Aug. 29. It is once again being hosted by the East Meadow Soccer Club. Over 430 teams, both boys and girls squads, will be having fun in 71 different divisions. These sides represent approximately 100 soccer clubs. Each team plays five round-robin games during the tourney.
The fields being used are Mitchell Athletic Complex in Uniondale, Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, Speno Park in East Meadow, Salisbury School in East Meadow, Field of Dreams in East Meadow, Meadowbrook School in East Meadow, Cantiague Park in Hicksville, Stillwell Fields in Woodbury, Bethpage State Park Polo Fields in Bethpage, Peter Collins Soccer Park in Plainview, Cuomo Fields in Island Trees, Seamen's Neck Park in Seaford and Wantagh Park in Wantagh.
