Today was a great day for golf, low humidity, low temperatures and a slight, cool breeze. We had 42 men today and we totaled 44 pars and 1 birdie. Jim Greene again got 4 pars and Mike Guerriero got 3 pars and a birdie on the par 3, 150-yard 3rd hole. Today was the fourth round of the match play tournament and we have two survivors for the championship round. They are Pete Guerra and John Wengler.
The next tournament will be on Thursday, Sept. 1. It will be the fifth and final round of our match play tournament.
Competition on the nine hole course is divided into two divisions. Flight A is for players with a handicap of 11 or less. Flight B is for players with a handicap of 12 or more. The league is a 100 percent handicap league. Any man who is 55 years of age is eligible.
Note: Because of the rapid growth of our club this year, we regret that we must limit our membership. The time involved to make up the foursomes and the waiting time for all the groups to finish is prohibitive. If you have already called to say that you wish to join the club, we will accept you, but after that we will have to put you on a waiting list. For more information call Lou Neumann at 681-2056.
