The Cantiague Figure Skating Club held a figure skating seminar with Olympic and World Coach Tatiana on Aug. 1 at Cantiague Park Ice Rink in Hicksville. Tarasova has taught many world and Olympic freestyle and ice dance athletes over the past 35 years with her most recent achievement being Alexi Yagudin, the Russian men's figure skating champion's Olympic Gold Medalist at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Games. She is currently training Michelle Kwan in California.

The Cantiague Figure Skating Club hosted a seminar with Olympic gold medalist Alexi Yagudin earlier in July. This is a continuing seminar. They are expecting to host Oksana Baiul in mid August. This high level of coaching talent is a great benefit to young, aspiring, competitive figure skaters. The club is also running a summer program, which serves as a good way to show the children that famous coaches are interested in them too. Through the program, the coaches provide both technical training and incredible inspiration.

The Cantiague Figure Skating Club, Inc. was formed over 38 years ago as a not-for-profit organization to promote the sport of figure skating and ice dance. The club has approximately 300 members and provides ice time at the Cantiague Park Ice Rink and Iceworks in Syosset. Skaters from the club compete at the national and international level and perform in shows such as Disney on Ice. The club is also host to an annual skating competition in mid-May and an ice show in late May.
