It was a very hot and humid day today (7/21). The scores were not bad and we had 40 pars among 41 golfers, including four by Bill Cheslock. We also had two birdies, one by Ted Marakawa on the 157-yard, par 3, 7th hole and the other by Dave Malle on the 150-yard, par, 3rd hole. Today we played the second round of our match play tournament and there are eight men left.
The next tournament will be on Thursday, Aug. 4. It will be the third round of our match play tournament. When you arrive at the golf course, please check the list on the bulletin board to see who your partner is and then sign in together.
Competition on the nine-hole course is divided into two divisions. Flight A is for players with a handicap of 11 or less. Flight B is for players with a handicap of 12 or more. The league is a 100 percent handicap league. Any man who is 55 years of age or older is eligible.
Note: Because of the rapid growth of our club this year, we regret that we must limit our membership. The time involved to make up the foursomes and the waiting time for all the groups to finish is prohibitive. If you have already called to say that you wish to join the club, we will accept you, but after that we will have to put you on a waiting list. For more information call Lou Neumann at 681-2056.
