Tragic Accident Claims Life of Hicksville Teen
Hicksville resident James Delaney succumbed to his injures on Thursday, July 21 after being hit by a car the night before. James, who would have turned 15 on July 23, was riding his bike home from football practice when the accident happened at 8:32 p.m. at the intersection of Newbridge Road and Elmira Road.

Local Residents to Star in CenterStage Production
St. Paul the Apostle Church of Brookville's CenterStage will present The Prince and the Pauper at Mercy First School in Syosset Aug. 4 through Aug. 7. This year's performance includes onstage and behind-the-scenes contributions from many Long Islanders of all ages, backgrounds and denominations including from Hicksville, the Blacks, Ron Castillo, brother/sister duo Daniel and Deana Kani, Adam Mosebach and Andrew Villaran.

Cantiague Park Senior Men's Golf League
It was a very hot and humid day today (7/21). The scores were not bad and we had 40 pars among 41 golfers, including four by Bill Cheslock. We also had two birdies, one by Ted Marakawa on the 157-yard, par 3, 7th hole and the other by Dave Malle on the 150-yard, par, 3rd hole. Today we played the second round of our match play tournament and there are eight men left.

Altar Servers Defeat Parents in 2nd Annual Softball Game
On Saturday, July 23 Geise Park in Hicksville was host to a fierce competition. The parents of the altar servers were ready to take on the challenge of the second annual softball game and regain their pride after last year's loss.
